Kaitlyn Scarborough receives 2021 Senior Scholarship

ESBWM Courtney Cole presented Kaitlyn Scarborough with a scholarship for $300 in May. Kaitlyn will be attending Missouri State University – Springfield to major in biology. She is working on a career to become an ophthalmologist. She is the daughter of Jaimie Scarborough.

She worked hard at school, participating in school activities, plus holding a job at Feldman’s Farm & Home. She was a volunteer at Northland Therapeutic Riding Center. She was a Girl Scout mentor to Brownies in Troop 3123 and a tutor/mentor at Rockin’ Tiger Club after school program. She helped with packing/sorting produce for BackSnack program at Harvester’s Food Network and After the Harvest gleaning food from farmers to provide free to agencies that distribute within the community.

“Kaitlyn is an extremely hard worker, and is not afraid to jump in with both feet and take on challenging roles that bring her out of her comfort zone. She is always willing to helpĀ  a struggling classmate. She is humble, never asking for recognition or the spotlight,” said Sheri Whitt, Excelsior Springs Mathematics Instructor.

“Kaitlyn will be successful in her future college endeavors. She has strong reasoning skills and is able to think outside of the box. She strives to understand complicated concepts and perseveres until she achieves her goals,” Sheri added.
