City Manager Molly McGovern was recognized for her outstanding service to community during Business Women of Missouri Week when she was presented with the 2022 ESBWM Activist Award. Molly in leadership of her staff secured more than $2.1 million for Safe Streets and Sidewalks along Wornall. The project is one that she has been working on for five years.
In conjunction, improvements will also be made along 10 Highway from Job Corps hill to Walmart, adding new sidewalks and landscaping to beautify the west side shopping district.
Molly worked with Clay County Commissions to secure funding for a Watershed Study to design a solution to downtown flooding and to pay for the improvements to Powell Lake for rainwater runoff to accommodate the new outdoor swimming pool at the Community Center.
Her exceptional achievements on behalf of the City of Excelsior Springs are worthy of recognition.
