Bowman chosen for 2015 Community Activist Award

Daphne Bowman, owner of Willow Spring Mercantile, was honored as the 2015 Excelsior Springs Business Women of Missouri’s Community Activist. Bowman runs a successful, family-owned shop featuring fine Missouri wines, goods and gift items. The shop has the state’s largest selection of Missouri wines, craft beers and distilled spirits, plus a bistro that serves homemade food for the lunch crowd, including catering to special dietary needs and gluten-free requests.

Bowman provides space to help local artisans. She has been a main supporter of the Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP) and helps to organize the annual Farmer’s Market. She and her husband, Jim, renovated a downtown building over several floors to combine the unique retail, wining an dining experience. They also helped to restore the Lithia #1 Spring Gazebo, located adjacent to the store.
