Local attorney Janet Blauvelt, pictured right, was recently honored by the Excelsior Springs Chapter of Business Women of Missouri during a Chamber Luncheon event. Janet received the honor for her work done is rescuing the endangered historic Superior Well ticket house, the last remaining structure of its kind in Excelsior Springs.

Janet is also active locally with the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce, serving on its board of directors and as chair of the Trolley Committee. She helps with historic tours of Excelsior Springs during Waterfest and other special community events. She is also chair of the Mineral Water Wells committee.

In addition to the award certificate, Janet was presented with a fresh floral arrangement by local club president Sonya Morgan. The award is given annually to a local woman during Business Women of Missouri Week.

Janet is the owner of the Blauvelt Law Firm, LLC. She has offices in Kansas City at 1600 Genessee, Suite 832 and in Excelsior Springs at 118 Spring Street.
